The properties of Duplex S31803 and S3205 Flanges make them highly corrosion resistant and tough. These alloys are widely used in the Petrochemical industry, because of their resistance to chloride and sulfide corrosion. Additionally, they are available with NACE 3.1 Certification. To learn more, read on to discover some of the benefits of these materials.
Duplex S31803 and S32205 Flanges are tough and corrosion resistant
Duplex S31803 and S32200 flanges are composed of high-quality stainless steels that are hard and durable, yet also have good resistance to sulfide stress corrosion. These grades are commonly used in the fabrication of flanges and other components, and their outstanding corrosion resistance makes them highly popular among industrial users. Among the benefits of S31803, which is a ferritic-austenite alloy, is its excellent corrosion resistance.
Duplex S31803 and S32204 flanges feature a two-phase structure with nearly equal amounts of austenite and ferrite. This resulted in superior strength and corrosion resistance compared to conventional stainless steel. Grade 31803 has undergone several modifications and is now called UNS S32205. However, it does not have the same high-temperature strength as S31803 and S32205 flanges. They are harder and more durable, but also have a higher density.
They are widely used in Petrochemical Industry
Due to their high strength and corrosion resistance, Duplex S31803 and S32204 flanges are highly demanded in the Petrochemical Industry. These grades are used in a wide range of applications, including oil refining, petrochemical processing, refineries, and other high-temperature environments. Duplex steel flanges are available in various grades, sizes, and shapes.
They exhibit outstanding corrosion resistance to seawater, oil, and gas, and are widely used in oil and gas piping systems. These high-quality alloys also exhibit outstanding resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and general corrosion in acid and sour gas environments. Moreover, they exhibit superior weldability and high mechanical strength. These flanges are widely used in the Petrochemical Industry.
They are corrosion resistant to sulfide and chloride
These two duplex stainless sheets of steel have similar elemental compositions, namely ferrite, and austenite. This combination gives these stainless steels good resistance to corrosion from sulfide and chloride in seawater. The alloys are also durable and strong and are used for a variety of applications where high strength and low weight are required.
Duplex S31803 and S32204 are highly corrosion-resistant stainless steels, with high amounts of molybdenum. This combination provides excellent strength, reduced pitting, and consistent stress corrosion cracking resistance. Both Duplex S31803 and S32205 are easily welded using common stainless steel welding methods, and the steel’s uniform composition minimizes localized corrosion.
They are offered with NACE 3.1 Certification
The flanges are available with various certifications. ASTM A182 S31803 Long Weld Neck Flange and ANSI B16.5 Duplex S32205 Orifice Flange are certified as high-quality steel products.
Both S31803 and S32205 are resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking and high-temperature oxidation. The material is also resistant to corrosion at temperatures up to 302degF and 150degC. The A790 S32205 Flanges have good weldability but are not welded without filler metal. If you have to weld them without filler material, you may end up with excessive ferrite.
