Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU BA Course
The candidate should have passed the higher secondary examination or an equivalent exam from a recognized board.
In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribes(ST) category, the upper age limit is relaxed as per government rules and regulations. In such cases, candidates must produce a certificate for having been born before 01 July 1985.
Candidates who are appearing in their 12th class final examinations can also apply but they would not be able to complete the course within two years due to practical exams conducted by respective universities at semester level so these students will get additional one year grace period after completion of degree courses i.e., till 31st March 2020 for IGNOU BA Programme 2018-20 batch only.
What are the Course Structure/Syllabus of Ignou BA Program
Ignou BA course structure has been divided into six semesters. The first semester is dedicated to foundational courses like English, Fundamentals of Information Technology (FIT) and Computer Fundamentals etc., where the emphasis will be on acquiring basic knowledge about these subjects. During this period students are also expected to opt for one optional subject in order to get a holistic idea of their interest in that particular field. The fourth semester is dedicated to the final year project, which is an important component of this degree programme.
