What is your ideal wedding dress? What do you dream about on your wedding day? Today we inaugurate a column dedicated to wedding dresses. And we do it starting from the story of an entrepreneur mother who managed to realize her passion and dreams as a child.
Today we introduce you to Annagemma lascars, a designer expert in Haute Couture, creative Director of Atelier Lascari, and the Annagemma Milano collection.
How did the idea of creating a wedding dress atelier come about? Tell us about how your passion began.
As a child, I dreamed of being a ballet dancer or a stylist for dream dresses, the important ones with wide and light skirts.
What is your ideal wedding dress?
So, despite my family being against it, I started art and painting studies and, later, fashion schools in Milan. Rangjah provides the best Pakistani Dresses online UK. My real leap was when I was admitted to the Domus Academy; Gianfranco Ferrè was then Director of the master in Fashion Design and Creative Director of the Maison Dior. Being a young designer-artisan, in 1993, I decided to open my Atelier dedicated to the unique dress and, therefore, to the bride and the ceremony. Bride after bride, which I always carry in my heart, 25 years of career have flown by and my light and impalpable skirts.
How is a wedding dress born?
It comes from a project: every bride is a unique client for me; I design and create the best for her regardless of the budget. Born from the bride’s dream, all the girls have an idea: my proposals are taken from her story, and we start with trying different types of dresses and silhouettes. My role is to guide the bride to choose the best for her and her kind of ceremony, place, seasonality, body shape, age, budget, and so on.
Collected the information, we tried, and then I concluded with the design of the dress that we are going to make with the accessories and any changes of scene or clothing.
How is a Bridal dress born?
I love to create a mannequin, experiment with new shapes with new fabrics, the roll just opened, and follow the dress’s creation; I am always impatient and excited. You love working together on my Premiere. I love fitting time and being able to continue designing for my client. You love the final test, great satisfaction to see the bride’s smile, of the mother. They are unforgettable moments.
When, in 2011, I was offered to direct the Maison Schiaparelli start-up and create its Atelier in Paris, I had a family reunion asking my children to think together about the proposal. The family decided that I would go to Paris.
These have been years of sacrifice and growth for all of us. We have become one. They were always with me, even if at a distance, and proud of their mother. The ingredient is the strength of sharing, being double-bound by our dreams, desires, small and large problems. Talk about everything as if they were big.
You’re most original creation?
There have been many, having worked with artists and for the theater.
When I debuted in Roman Haute Couture as an emerging talent. I created, among others, a wedding dress thinking about the pool party. It was spectacular: the piquet skirt had 20 different layers, as Gianfranco Ferrè had taught me. And experimental fabrics from me realized. It came off entirely, and the bride was ready for the dip in the pool in her couture corset.
Cristina Morozzi then chose this dress to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary with Massimo Morozzi, one of the great Italian designers.
What would you recommend to an undecided bride on the type of dress to choose?
I would recommend carefully choosing ateliers and boutiques because she is undecided. One Atelier is not worth the other. Not all of them are Ateliers, that is, tailoring workshops.
