If the new crop of offensive and defensive line talent performs up to expectations, the Eagles will win the NFC East. It falls to rookie first-round pick Jalen Carter, second-year DT Jordan Davis, and third-year defensive tackle Milton Williams to pick up some of the slack since defensive tackle Javon Hargrave left for the San Francisco 49ers and Fletcher Cox (32) and Brandon Graham (35) are nearing the end of their careers. To fill the void left by Isaac Seumalo, second-year offensive lineman Cam Jurgens is switching from center to right guard. Tyler Steen from Alabama, a rookie, or he must secure that position for Philadelphia to guarantee Hurts is operating from a clear pocket. Online sportsbooks have the Eagles as the overall favorites at 1/1 even money.
If quarterback Daniel Jones continues to improve in Year 2 under Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and Waller and some of the Giants’ best offensive weapons remain healthy, the Giants will win the NFC East. In the 2022 regular season, New York will at least have a chance to improve upon their 1-4-1 divisional record with a more potent offense (particularly the passing attack). In seven games, including the playoffs, against NFC East opponents last year, the Giants only once scored more than 20 points. That 22-point outburst contributed to a 26-point rout at the hands of the Eagles. That won’t solve the problem. But watch out if this new offense, featuring an improved Jones and better, healthier weapons, can rank in the top half of the league. It’s also not totally impossible. the Raanan
If the defense performs as well as it could and should throughout the season, the Commanders win the NFC East. In two of the last three seasons, the defense has finished in the top 10 in terms of yards and points. However, they must start off strongly. For instance, the first six games of last season saw the defense finish 18th in points and 19th in yards allowed. However, they were first in yards and third down conversions and sixth in points over the final 12 weeks. They’ve added Emmanuel Forbes, a potential playmaking corner, and a healthy Chase Young (limited to three games in 2022). If the defense acts as the foundation, the offense can develop under new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and veteran quarterback Howell, who has made one NFL start. — Keim
If Dak Prescott overcomes his interception problem from the previous season, the Cowboys will win the NFC East. Despite only starting 12 games, he had 15 picks, which tied for the most in the NFL. Let’s recall how rarely Aaron Rodgers turned the ball over during their time working together with the Green Bay Packers. Coach Mike McCarthy is now in charge of calling the plays after Kellen Moore stepped down. McCarthy’s West Coast offense and the Cowboys’ 15-year offensive tradition will be combined by the Cowboys to form what Prescott refers to as the Texas Coast offense. This offense should be among the league’s best, even without running back Ezekiel Elliott, thanks to a talented defense on all levels.
